Default Smaragdz and pattern planes

Does anyone know what the difference between the Smaragd, and the Smaragdz? I've looked all around, but can't find any information.
Also, what do you all think is the best aircraft for PURE PATTERN?
Thanks,
Robert.

Hey,

The Smaragd is the first version of the plane. The new Z model is a wider fuse with the wings changed for better snapping ablities. I will be ordering a Smaragd Z after the Nats. I will have a YS DZ in it and futaba 9450's all the way around.

Is there anything else special about it? When will you order it? Will you get the standard kit, or one prebuilt?
Please tell me how you get on, as this is one of the planes I am thinking of getting!
Thanks,
Robert.

Are you sure about the fuselage being larger??

I tough that the only difference were the wing stan configuration and different shape for the rudder.....??

and fix gear.....!

After talking to Pete Collinson and QUIQUE they both told me that they were wider body. I think after talking to my friend pete just getting his after ordering his 1 month after the nats. I will probably put half down on the thing soon to be in line for it. I will be getting the standard with sheeted wings. I will also get the honeycomb sheets for it.

I've just started my first Ltd. which is my first four stroke, and I can say that it is an ANIMAL. To produce more power out of the same size must have been hard!
Anyone else try it?

Bonsoir !

I do agree, Yamada's engines are the best good looking engines... when it runs !!!

Beleive me, the guys in Cork who knew dead stick were Yamada's engines !

But I have to says: "there is nothing beter than the sound of a 4 strokes".

No hard feeling Andrew,

Bye for now,

JYM.

I think that it was a DZ that dead sticked, I remember it. Is there any one using digital servos on their plane. What do you think of them? Pro's and cons over analogue ones would be nice.

My team mate Dez Vaghy deadsticked with his 140L, not because of engine, he has his idle set too low and he got caught coming out of the figure 9.

Yep he was, something that I dont think he ever really got over for the rest of the contest. Seemed like he was preoccupied with his engine running for the rest of his flights and he never really got back into the swing of it. There is always next time right

Robert,

I am using digital servos in my FOCUS. I think they are really good servo's the only real advantage is holding power around center. Just my opinon.
