RE: Haikong Mfg. - SICKLE Composite F3A
No. Nothing yet. The plane here in Adelaide has been taken away by someone and fitted out to test.
It has NOT been fitted with a Hacker OR Plettenberg . . and it's not being set up and tested by a Pattern flyer either. I know that much ! So it will be VERY interesting as to it's ACTUAL performance . . and weight for that matter ! !
If anyone has any info as to it's performance / characteristics, I'd be very interested. I'll post with any news that I hear from the local testing.
Cheers, JB

I'd give you details on mine - I got mine last year in June but it unfortunately crashed on its 4th flight due to interference. I hadn't even started to trim it out yet... mine had a Hacker C50 in it.

Just to give you an idea of how much they improved the weight based on the original I got in June of 2007...
Fuse including the rudder - 1280g
Left Wing Panel - 445g
Right Wing Panel - 435g
Wing Tube - 115g
Left Stab & Tubes - 130g
Right Stab - 130g
Total weight of 2535g whereas yours comes out to 2256 (including a wing tube) for a total weight savings of 10oz. This is huge because I barely got mine to make weight.

Guys the plane is a winner in the air. It suffers from weight issues. I however did make weight but it wasn't easy with a plettenberg evo 30 and a YGE controller.
It's smooth in the air it rolls better than any plane I've ever owned. Snaps have been a challenge but I got them figured out with settings.
In my area there were 2 of them competing last season. FWIW they won in every contest they competed in in Masters and Advanced.
Bear from Hiakong reported that they have a new option available that has a foam core wing and stab to get them lighter. Haikong is difficult to communicate with and even harder to get planes from. My friend is attempting to import the plane into the US with no success so far. Mike Mueller
