If you saw how much I need to shim it to fly the cg forward.. What am I talking about Adrian? You would never own something under 10 grand.. lol

Seriously, if I did, then I would have to adjust the belly pan and everything else. I'm just going to try the cg in a few different spots, maybe change my thrust, stabs to match the wing.. Don't get me wrong, it still fly's good.

Excellent looking plane. How does it fly?
Also that's a great field you fly at. We don't have anything like that backround around here. Thanks for sharing the pics, Mike

kochj,

I would check with Alex with Fliton as their are several versions. Last price for the ARF composite was 2K,..but you should check with Alex Shim for options, etc..[8D]

Here's an update on my Element two weeks before our first District contest:

Well,...Unfortunately the Element was lost yestarday (Wednesday 10th 2009),....lost a cell in the TP 2100 Lipo pack during the third flight. The plane nosed in from the inverted attitude at idle. The engine is fine with the exception of a slightly bent crank, the spinner did not even get damaged. All the components made it through un-damaged.

My finial report: One of the best rolling, snapping and spinning planes I have flown to date,...overall great machine! I will post some final photos of the plane and some changes I made with regards to the landing gear to keep it from nosing over.

Well for all the Element pilots out there,... best of luck on your season and may it start better than mine!

Sorry to hear that Bill.

Some merit in 2 x 1000mAh packs wired seperately into the Rx . . Hey ??

A friend decided to do the 'redundancy' think on his 2M . . then got shot down by a Newby on the same Freq. ! ! . . he's gone 2.4g now

Always something ! !

All the best for your new one ..

Cheers, JB

Aw man, that's a shame, Bill. Was it the one Alex delivered to you @ Tangerine?

Hey Steve,
Yes thats' the one, it was a great flying plane despite the cosmetics! I do not think I will be getting a replacement,..so back to the PL Partner for now. I was planning on Ocala,..but not now. I would like a crack at flying that "Monster" VF3, but it seems I my get to fly one again shortly.

Jeff,
I had thought of doing that with two (2) TP-1100 with seperate regulators and plugging one into an open channel on the RX. We use to do that back in the late 90's with the big IMAC birds. Two(2) Recievers and dual batteries for each reciever. You just end up with a bunch of swithches,..redundency is a good thing! The Element Composite is a custom order only and you can get it in an EP or GP you can request your own color scheme, etc. The plane was $2,000.00 the last I was told for the full painted ARF version. I do not know what the ARC all white $ amount is.

Hey Bill, come to the Ocala contest. just fly the partner. Also my dad is going to be cooking steaks most likely and you are welcome to join us. it should be an awesome contest! and then you can get some stick time on the "monster" VF3, Ive been wanting someone to put it through a few FAI sequences. lol It had no problem doing the Masters 09 sequence last week.

Hey Chris,

That is great man and thanks a ton for the invite,....but I will not have my 170 back to put back in the Partner,.I just sent it off to get all the sand out of the bearings (another story behing that one)and replace my bent crank. I would love to come down, unfortunately it would be like the DEC. contest,....I will post the carnage this weekend!

I am planning to make yours in Lakeland, Fla and mabe a few other out of Dist contest,..plus I'm going back to flying some IMAC again!

Best of Luck Guys!
