LEO 110 pattern plane
Hi all,
I am looking at getting a pattern plane just as a casual pattern flyer, not a real serious competition plane. I'm wondering if this is ok for what I want. I realize that this plane is setup for a YS110 but I'm looking at putting a Magnum 120 4 stroke in it. I realize the the YS is more powerful but I don't want to spend the extra money for it and really, have no interest in buying 20% nitro fuel for the YS.
Anyway, anyone here got any experience with this plane? Thanks.

RE: LEO 110 pattern plane
I've seen that plane here in italy... it's nice but not a big deal.
Let me recommend you the phoenix model's Accipiter; it's cheaper, flies better and has the same quality.

Well; I boutgh it in italy at www.mobby.it
I don't know who in US could sell it; but I'm pretty sure that anyone selling Phoenix Models can provide you. The Leo is a chinese-european plane too; so may be the same seller of the Leo could provide it too.
Cheers!

RE: LEO 110 pattern plane
Check out the world models 120 http://www.theworldmodels.com/para/p...airplaneid=165
The problem was the covering was cheap, but it was one of the best pattern planes I've flown (under $300).
Search "Spot on 120" here and google and you will find a lot of info. I used a YS110 in mine, but a OS120 or similar would be better. This plane as adjustable incidence, something you don't find in many planes under $750. It's worth a look.

RE: LEO 110 pattern plane
I am almost finished with my Leo 110
I just have to put the exhaust system in it
Now I am also waiting for this lousy winter weather to be gone
so I can do my bench work to get the engine setup right
the plane will come out to 10.5 lbs
I went with a YS 110 because I had a couple of YS engines
I also have a magnum 4 stroker and I am sorry to say it doesn't have the power of the YS
you won't notice the power loss until you start doing vertical manuvers
