Default New design from Kyosho Sonic Sports Acro 90 replacing G-Trick 90?

For your information, there is a new Super Quality Series ARF from Kyosho Japan.

It is not out in Japan yet. (End of June)
It is designed by Giichi Naruke of Japan (Designer of current Hirobo Stream series, Limbo, Kyosho G-trick 90, Cap 232 60, Lovely CD, Aurum series etc).

It is a second version of Sonic Sports 1600. Much better looking?
Probably it will replace US discontinued Kyosho G-trick 90 in the state. Not sure if they can keep the price low since it is 78000 yen in Japan.

Dual Elevator servos on tail, 3D capability, 2-piece fixed main gear.
No pipe tunnel (use standard muffler)
Length : 1600 mm
Span: 1575 mm
Weight: 3400g ~ 3600g
Wing Area: 50 dm^2
Engine: 91 ~ 110 4-stroke. 90 2-stroke

78000 yen=560Euro=$660.....Thats alotawonga.

Looks nice though, I'd like to see Kyosh come out with a 2 meter design, around a cheap engine, for under $500. I think it can be done.

From the pictures, the noticible differences I can tell from the G-Trick are:

- non airfoiled tail feathers
- wing tips are flat (no angle to them, like on G-Trick or GP Venus)
- cowl is one piece, rather than a fiberglass front piece and chin cowl
- elevator servos in tail (already did this on my G-Trick)

To me, it should be easier to produce with these mods - but the prices are still in the G-Trick range. I hope the quality improves over the G-Trick (Flip is great, tho).

Curious to know if it will be released here in the States! Looks a a lot like an enlarged fixed gear Stream to me.

The price above is MSRP.

Kyosho G-trick 90 was 98000 yen (MSRP), mostly sold around 78000 yen in Japan.
In the state, it was sold around $550 ~ $600.

Sonic Sport 1600 is 68000 yen and is sold around 56000 yen.

So, the Acro version will probably go around 62000 yen
If imported to US, the Acro should cost around $450 ~ $500 at Tower hobbies. I hope a Good deal from other mail order should be under $450.

I think Stream 90 Hiper is much better plane.
Yes they all look alike Same designer.
It is larger than Sonic Acro.

Stream 90 Hiper spec.
Length:1700mm
Wingspan:1680mm
Wingarea:53dm2
Weight:3700-4000g
Fixed gear, 3D capable, first plane tested for YS 110 in Japan.

Default ARF ?

Question,
They made the G-Trick 90 in an ARF and is being sold for $949.00
Is the Stream 90 or the Sonic 90 an ARF and if yes what would the price be?

Paul,

Who says $949? I saw $549.00.
National Hobby Supplies used to sell the G-Trick 90 at $500.00. They got kicked by other mail order and retailers for low price. Distributors such as Horizon and Great Planes also blamed a lot to the National Hobby Supplies, so the good National Hobby went out of business a couple of years ago.

All the planes mentioned above such as Stream series, Sonic series are ARF.
Hirobo Stream series are imported by MRC.
50 size is about $274.99
Stream 90 is around $500 ~ $600. I am not sure. Nobody actually has it in stock. Maybe the MRC has them, but only the Stream 90 FAI version, not the Hiper.

Kyosho Sonic series if imported, will be distributed by GP. Not sure if they will import them since US already have many ARF version 90 size Patten & 3D compatible planes under $300.00

G-Trick 90 actually was a failure for GP as was the Aurum 30.
They priced them way too high. Unless they match compatible price range under $400. I don't think they can sell much. Since Japanese charge export tax, price isn't going to be cheap.

I have a Stream 90 Hi Perf. Can confirm it is to die for. Beautiful work, exceeds anything from Kyosho. Anybody need to know anything about it? Before you ask I got it from Hirobo as I used to work in the trade, so to speak... and connot give you a real street price...
