Default MK Magic Box weight?

Hey guys,

I'm sitting here calculating weights for a new airplane and I think I want to use an MK Magic Box for the canopy. I searched the forums here, and yielded nothing. How much do these weigh? Also, I'm assuming that they do not come in pairs. Is this correct?

Thanks for your help!

My scale has trouble registering them but it stops at 16 grams. They look sturdy and they are, but they are scary light. The feel like they are filled with helium. and yes, they come in pairs only.

It's a canopy or belly pan snap-on fastener. It's two bolts that snap into a retainer which has a release mechanism that allows you to open the lock without tools. I found them a bit tricky to install but if you can access the canopy or bellypan from the inside then it's a snap (like planes with removeable 1-piece wing and detachable canopy)

Thanks Jon! I was worried that they would be a little heavy, given their size. That's rediculously light, however. I do believe I'll be using those on this new airplane.

One more question now that I'm thinking of it, Jon. Could you please give me the dimensions of the box since it seems as though you have one outside of an airplane at the moment? I really appreciate all your help!

If you could also take a picture and post it, that would be helpful. I've seen the product on Central's website, but haven't been able to make much sense of it.

Ryan,
Give Bob Noll a call. He's very familiar with the magic box. He did an article on installing it in a Twister. I think it was in the K-Factor.
