Default Apple Valley Pattern Contest 2010

Hey Guys,

Just here in Wenatchee Washington for the weekend for the Apple valley contest. Will post up some pics as we go! Here are a couple of the drive down (about 1000km from Calgary) and of the field....Nedim and I got in one flight in some brisk wind to brush off the cobwebs from the long drive lol

The flying site here is unreal, power on site, manicured grass, an airconditioned club house with showers and bathrooms and a balcony!

More tomorrow night after the first rounds!

I remember reading somewhere that the pics coming out big was a server issue... apparently if you notify the moderator, aided with some sort of techo-geek info they can go in and fix it.

Don't let it stop you from posting pics though Chad!

Hey everyone,

We had a good day today, wind was a little brisk for most of the day, 16 pilots in total. I believe most everyone got in three rounds today before calling it quits. I will get a shot of the scores, but will be on the road before I get a chance to post them

Here are a few shots of the inside of the clubhouse, which is really more like a community center LOL. There are full service (hot water etc.) mens/ladies washrooms and even a shower, amazing!

Chad,

The flying site reminds me of the movie Field of Dreams.

Geesh, I can only dream of a flying site like that here in the North East...ain't gonna happen (sigh!!)

Hey guys,

Yes Matt it is a great site. As I understand it, the corporation waste management took the old field and constructed them this one as a replacement. Can't get any better!

Apparently the picture problem should be fixed (for new pics only), so I will try the last few I have. I didn't get many good ones of the awards, but the three planes in FAI and the final results. For a second year of the contest it was very good, I hope I can find time to make it back another year!

To the couple of PM's I got about the planes (the option-120 and panacea), I will get the responses out shortly!

Did Rex and Gordon not fly? I see them in the pics but their names don't show in the results...

It's good to see Dave Villwock again... what is he flying - the Euphoria?

Hi Derek,

Yes they did fly, the flew P-09 and called it expert class. Not sure why they didn't put their names down on the scoresheet! They did a great job of keeping the contest going, and did a huge amount of judging for the rest of us

Yep, thats Dave's Euphoria....he basically pulled it off the shelf, read through P-11 on Saturday night and caught up the rounds on Sunday, after a few flights he had it down pretty good. Not bad for flying it cold!
