US Nats FAI Update - FINAL RESULTS POSTED

RE: US Nats FAI Update - FINAL RESULTS POSTED
Hans,
I don't know if any of the prototype Neu motors (some of which used the Reisenhauer 6:1 gearbox, the last prototypes were actually done with 6.7:1 P42 gearboxes) were used at the 2009 NATs. There certainly is/was some variation in the power levels of the prototypes. I do know the resulting prop RPM of all the prototypes and production motors is close, so the prototypes using the Reisenhauer would have been slightly lower KV motors compared to the production version.
My motor (w/ P42 6.7:1, manufactured 06/19/09) -
80F
APC 21x14
TP PL V2 5300
CC 85 HV, 2.12 software, medium timing, 12 khz
~82 amps static
~6300 RPM
My backup motor shows the same performance numbers.

Hi Dave I would like to know if the listed users of the Neu in this thread are still using this Reisenauer gearbox (1:6 ratio). And if so does the production version have the same characteristics as what you have seen performing at the Nats or is it a totally different 'animal' . At least the gear ratio seem different.

Thanks for the info. Doesn't look like electrics need a change in the rules.
Jim
