So I am thinking about selling my Icepoint 2M airframe and would like to know what its worth. All it needs is a fuel tank, engine and engine mount. It has Futaba S9402 on all surfaces. It has had very few flights on it and in excellent shape. Frame costs $500 new and servos cost $300 for all 5. So what can I expect to get for it? Thanks

Pretty dated design. Good quality analog servos, again pretty dated. Shipping is not very realistic because the cost of crating and shipping will approach the $250-350 plane cost.
+2 for the price range with local pick up.
good luck.
you might get more by separating the servos from the airframe.

Had one back in 2006 when I started in Masters, great flying plane. I agree dated, yet great for a beginner in pattern.

Hi Bill,
I completely agree that it would be an excellent first or second pattern ship. The biggest drawback is that it is glow powered as pattern seems to be largely e-power these days. Probably could be converted to e-power with a bit of effort.

I'm told that shipping by bus is fairly ecomomical. Tracking isn't the best but the package usually gets there.

I've shipped a couple of airplanes and a $3000 digital piano via Grayhound. I was more than happy with the service and cost. There was an option for 'express shipping' or something - I wished I had used that for the first shipment, which was long distance and took a few days. It would have been a more direct route with less handling, but the plane made it just fine. I believe the cost was around $80 for a 1.10 bird in a custom crate.

Decided to keep it. Servos will go in my 60 size P47, and will look into electric. I am told a big 160 (like Rimfire 1.60 or Tacon Bigfoot 160), a 100a ESC and dual 5000 lipos. Thank you all for the advise.

Hey Will,

I originally ran a OS 140 RX in mine and eventually put the trusty ol'e OS 160 in it on a pipe after the 140 was discontinued. This would still be a great combination for the plane. I ran the OS 160 in FAI for 2 years 2007-2008 in two air frames, until I switched to YS. The OS160 was very fuel efficient with a Perry pump and a tuned pipe. Finding headers may be difficult with the lose of Karl Mueller, who use to custom make the headers.

Inrunner might be easier with a firewall mount, Like a Hacker....You won't have to remove all of the engine mount rails.
