Hey Guys,
I just thought I would pass this along. If anyone is staying at the Jameson Inn, you can print off a coupon to get $10 off per night.

Well today we got the field all set up for practice on Friday and we actually had a little practice today. The temp. was around 60 degrees and the wind was calm, sometimes a little breeze out of the north. Lets see there was Ivan K., Chris, Larry Loucks, Ken Blackwell, and myself there this afternoon. We all got a couple of flights in each and it was lots of fun. Hope to see more on Friday, but weather is suppose to be bad. See everyone soon.

BOPOD and his entourage will depart Andersonville, GA this morning. We broke into the hobby shop last night and we need to get out of south GA before Mack and Wild Bill arrive. Hodge's is such a nice place to shop!

RE: D3 Polk Pattern Classic 2010
I won't really be recovered from this weekend until tomorrow I'm sure, but other than having to wear long-johns and gloves before going to NY for the WRAM show on Wednesday, it was great to finally do some pattern flying. Larry and family did a great job keeping the contest running especially with the odd breakdown of pilots between the classes. Needless to say, the Advanced and FAI pilots probably have Masters down pat now . Maybe it's time that the 8+ Masters guys get to judge themselves one contest so they know how we feel lol.
Ivan and I had fun calling for each other and getting to know the new patterns. We both learned a lot from helping each other this weekend.
If I didn't lose my camera I coulda posted results, but I do remember that:
Sportsman:
sorry guys , but this was the BEST class contest of the event
Intermediate:
1st- Larry Odom
2nd- Houston S (not gonna butcher it)
3rd- Mike Robinson
Advanced:
1st- Victor Diaz
2nd- Ken Blackwell
Masters:
1st- Chris Odom
2nd- Humberto Pomales
3rd- John Fuqua
I think it was only 7 pts between 2nd and 3rd
FAI:
1st- Jason Shulman
2nd- Ivan Kristensen

Hey Jason,
Thanks for the kind comments, but I believe next year it should go even smoother. Sorry I had to pick on you, Ivan, Victor and Ken for all that masters judging. I hope everyone had a good time even though it was cold. Now as far as the results go I'll finish where you left off.
Sportsman: lst - Michael Plummer
2nd - George Gordon
3rd - Wayne Churchill
Intermediate: 1st - Larry Odom
2nd - Houston Schweitzer ( If it wasn't for his flame outs he would have been first) Good job Houston!
3rd - Mike Robinson
It was a pleasure to put on this contest and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year. Maybe it will be warmer.

I also need thank a few folks for there work in helping make this contest easier. Thanks go to the "Queen of Score Keeping" Melissa Hester for staying by the phone Saturday and Sunday to help my daughter and I with the scoring. Also Mr. Kenneth Blackwell for doing all my photos and putting them on CD for me and Larry Loucks for getting me a big cooler and also providing the ice for it, and not to mention he loaned me the Aggressor to fly in this contest. Now this is a weird on but I want to thank Mr. Ivan Kristensen for helping me put the lines on the field. He used his mini van to imprint strait lines in the grass so I would have a strait line to follow with the line painter. We had the entire field lined in about 30 minutes and it was pretty strait.
Thanks again to all
Larry

Some pics... not too many as my hands were trying to stay warm for most of the weekend
There was a rabbit sighting, remember to never fly with frozen lipos, old faded faithful was seen... under new management, Houston... we have a problem , while most of us were trying to stay warm... there's always some one (two) that think it's warm year round in FL
