YS 1.40FZ 5 nipple plumbing?
I bought a used 1.40FZ and it has 5 fuel nipples, the normal 3 up front and two on the back. Can I assume the ones on the back are for returning Fuel to the tank? Can I also assume the outter one takes the line from the front of the engine and the inner goes to the tank return?
I've got several of these engines and never seen one like this one.

RE: YS 1.40FZ 5 nipple plumbing?
Tim,
Your 5 nipple 140 FZ might be a 140 L (Limited). My 140 L's have 6 nipples: 2 up front, 2 on the left side (with short tubing line connecting these two) and 2 in the back. Also, YS didn't mark their FZ's with an L. The only way to tell you have an L is by the 2 nipples on the back of the crankcase. The nipple closest to the engine crankcase centerline is for the pressure line back to the tank.

Can you post some pictures of the engine? In particular the back plate.
The L and the FZ are really close cousins built on the same crank case. The back plate, although it could be changed, is different between the two. The L also has a sealing ring on the crank, which you would not be able to identify without opening the engine up.
