They are called canalyzers. The theory is that they clean up the airflow as it heads back to the tail.

They are called canalyzers. The theory is that they clean up the airflow as it heads back to the tail.
It is the legend not the theory. So called canalyzers acts like little upper wing of biplane - forms an area of higher pressure between them and the wings. Yes you can call this area a canal where air is restricted by canard and wing to flow off the fuse. Because of that a model have higher lift while flying on knife edge and better responds to rudder while flying normal.

the canalyser redress the helicoidal flux in laminary flux on the rudder, less rudder for knife edge
