Default Servo Question

I am using the nylon gear, JR 3421 SA Digital's on the Focus Sport, separate elevator servos, L & R, same set-up on one of the Intruder's. All fine. JR does not have these anymore, last time I looked, only the metal gear 3421's are avaliable. I have another Focus Sport on the way, looking to use the same set up, separate elevator servo's.

Question: I built the first F. Sport from Troy Newman's build thread. He said that the nylon gear 3421 SA's are recommended over the metal gear. I am using the Hyde mount with the YS110, whether this makes any difference/vibration, etc., metal vs nylon gear's. The new Focus will have the Hyde mount also. The MN48 nylon gear's are available, which are a drop in to the 3421.

I would appreciate comment's here, nylon vs. metal gear's in these servo's. As far as critical set-up, I would probably not now know the difference.

Thanks,
Vince

I have the SA's on my Axiome and the metal gear in my Osmose Evo, and really don't see any difference, I'm using the YS mount.

Best regards

Apereria - Thanks for the info. I am getting an order ready today to Horizon. My opinion, it is best to hear from someone using these servo's.

To convert the 3421 Metal gears to the nylon gears, Use the 321 Gear set.

Sure thing, one thing to note, they discontinued the SA version and probably will the MG but those same servos are coming out on HV versions, 3421 already out with different numbers, and I saw the 9411 in the Japanese catalog or wing servo, don't remember.

If you need to buy servos anyway, get the Futaba 9650. It's about the same size as the JR 3421 and has a plastic gear train. I'm using them on a Voodoo Express and a 2M Integral. They are also cheaper than JR 3421 and they will work just fine with a JR or Spektrum 2.4 receiver .

Thanks guy's. I will get a few of the 9650's. These forum's are great, get good "experienced" advice from many area's of the world, we all have a common interest. On another subject, I spoke with Rich Verano yesterday, YS Part's and Service. He said that the part's for the new YS115 are being manufactured now. Expect's the new 115 to be in the state's, at least by end of October. I am using the YS110S in my present Focus Sport, want to have some continuity with the new Focus..

Burtona

Are you running the 9650's in a glow powered Integral?

Thanks in advance, Tom

No, My Integral is electric.
But George Asteris had the Futaba 9650's in the YS 170 Intrgral destroyed in the mid-air at the Nats.
