41st RCRC Pattern Huntsville 2010
Well day one is over and its been a long day!!
We have a good turn out and had 3 pluss rounds completed today due to passing rain storms...just black clouds that allowed it to rain for about 30 minutes at a time...
Here is a few pictures...

RE: 41st RCRC Pattern Huntsville 2010
A big thanks to Tony, Jon, & Cathy for running the contest this weekend! We had some intermittent rain on Saturday with some swirling & blustery conditions. Sunday had more wind was but was more consistent. It was good to see everyone again.
In recent years there hasn't been a lot of positive discussion or enthusiasm noted for moving into the F3A class. More so, people seem to give all kinds of reasons for not flying F3A. As Victor noted above, Marcio flew F3A this weekend and did a GREAT job with it! I certainly applaud him for jumping up on the spur of the moment and flying so well. I hope that another pilot or two also decides to give it a shot this season as we have 3 contests left.
Bucking the trend I'll give some positive reasons for "why" to fly F3A:
1. It will make you a better pilot
2. Fundamentally, you will improve on all aspects of heading control and "wings-level" all around the box
3. Speed Control - a must have for F3A presentation and maneuver positioning
4. Airplane Trimming - by becoming a better pilot and flying slightly more difficult maneuvers, you'll be forced to improve your trim setup to reduce pilot workload
5. No pesky 1/2 points to worry about ... (OK, thats not a positive)
6. Finally - you get to help the other F3A pilots judge the larger Masters class
Again - lots of fun this weekend even though I had to return home Sunday morning to collect the correct wings It was fun to be in a contest again with Scott Smith too!!
Thanks,
Jim W.

Guys
Just want to say thanks to Jon and Tony and of course my lovely better half Cathy for running what sounds like a great contest. Unfortunatly work has caused me not to compete at all this year and could not CD the contest. I missed seeing all of you but Cathy filled me in on what a great time everyone had.
Look forward to seeing everyone hopefully next year.
Contratulations to everyone and thanks for keeping the long time running Rocket City Pattern contest on your calendars.
Regards
Bryan
