Is the Cromax clearcoat immune to 30% Nitro fuel?
Is the PPG clearcoat any better?

Sig buyterate clean dope is good to 15% and very good to keep decals on monocoat

Neither will hold if let wet for some time, if you clean at the end of the day it should, but I mean, the residue, the fresh fuel must be cleaned immediately. PPG urethane holds resist chemicals better.

Spraymax clear, available from Eastwood, is super. The gloss is very shiny and it's a rattlecan epoxy spray. One can will cover a 2m pattern ship. I use it on planes of different types and on boats. Good product, good price.

I use "Auto Body Master" clear urethane. It's a house brand from a local auto parts store. It's relatively inexpensive, sprays nice and has good gloss. ANY paint should have the raw fuel wiped off right away bit I've left 15% on this with zero effects. IMO automotive urethane is about as good as it gets. Read the label on the paint and see exactly what it is. My guess is many of the hobby paints are just re-branded automotive paints.

Epoxy is the most fuel resistant by far. K & B and HobbyPoxy were available in clear epoxy paint years ago and were the most fuel resistant I ever used. The KlassCote clear epoxy available now should as fuel resistant as the original HobbyPoxy since their colors seem to be.

Nelson water based paint is fuelproof to over 30% nitro if the crosslinker is used. In fact I have rubbed a cured painted surface with straight nitro with no ill affects. It's water based so it can be applied to just about anything. Great stuff and safe to use. Thin with water.
