Most (if not all) receivers have a voltage regulator issolating the battery from the rest of the circuit. The problems people experience with servos jittering on 6V is primarily the servos not liking the excessive voltage when fresh off a charge.

Default R700-6v

I am runnning a 6v NiCd pack and 4 811 Sport digital servos on mine. Great, just great. Love the servos. Don't seem to notice the receiver, so it must be fine.
