Default How do I read metric on torque on servo

I want to by some more servos from Hobby King, however the torque value is written in metric scale. How do I convert it to inch/pounds? Many thanks, Ken McCormack

The converter post #3 iseasy to usebut be aware thatmanufacturers do not use a universal measure of torque, some quote Stall Torque, others quote Holding Torque - buyer must ask and learn what has been advised in adverts/packaging so as to compare "apples with apples etc"

Servo - FAQ : Servo Torque (How is it measured) and Conversion Kg.cm <> oz in

Servo - FAQ : Torque Tester - DIY

Performance Slide Rule Calculator - Servo torque, Horsepower, Stall Speed etc.
RC Calculators - C.Gadd. [Servo Torque, Wing Loading, Glow to Electric etc.]
Convert For Windows - free download - convert units from one type to another

Or you can use this formula if you don't have access to the tower hobbies calc.
To change Kg/Cm to Oz/in. Multiply by 13.88, One Kg/Cm=13.88 Oz/in.
This isn't exact, but will get you very close, close enough to determine if you want to use that perticular servo.

example 3.2Kgx13.88=44.41Oz/in.

Go to this site and down load this little free tool called convert. You can install it and then convert just about any units back and forth! Ihave used it for maybe 20 years.

I thought all the common servos were metric screws now if that is what you are addressing.

That must be what is wrong with my servos!!! And we are trying to use US standard electricity instead of metric volts. I should have thought of that. DOH

Exactly. What's worse is trying to use metric time. THAT will really mess you up. [:'(]

If we were meant to use metrics, we would've been born with ten fingers and toes.... [X(][X(]
