Hello "mongo",

I also wish I knew what is "RCC".

It appears to me to be more of the stuff posted by some people.

Anyone can verify that I have never been banned from any forum.
I invite proof by who posted that false statement.

Then hopefully we can return to decent postings about the topic.

Hi,
A complete novice with radio control, I am looking for help with the Radicon Toy Bus from the 1950's. I am told it is the first radio control toy and it uses a Marconi Spark System (?). The motors work on the bus and the contoller box buzzes and sparks but the signal is not being received. Any suggestions/ Anybody out therethat does repairs, gives advice or sells parts? I can repair battery and windup toysbut I haven't a clue about the radio control world. At age 71 I am willing to learn but I definitely need guidance Thanks in advance EDK

Hey Cloudniner,

I was doing a search here on RCU for threads on the DMSS and DSMX protocols and came across this thread, definately a weird one.
I also went to RCCanada and found a thread started by ZOR that was completely weird! and the denial about RCC is even weirder (is that a word?) Best to keep a distance. lol

See ya

Dave,

I am asking for your help as a fine gentleman.

What ever you found must have been from a very long time ago.
So long ago that I could not reconcile RCC as being RCCanada.

I remember now having participated for a short time in RCC until I fond that it had been invaded by some hacking organization that had filled the forum with links to pornographic sites. There was pages and pages of such links.

Are you aware of that ?

To my knowledge at one moment they changed the software running the forum to have a new clean start.

I would appreciate from you as a real gentleman that you inform me of whatever you report havng found but without any other information than you mentoning having found something.

I do not have any idea now what year that would be.
Following my misadventure with pages and pages of links to bad sites I drove RCC completely out of my mind.

Thanks for any good cooperation you might be able to offer.
I am trusting that you are not a person to degrade any other fellow in the hobby community.

Regards from Zor

Edited to change "misadventre" to "misadventure"

For sure ___you do not have to ask .

What do you have to add to the main subject ?

Most fliers using the system do not know how it works.
They just use it and have nothing to say unless they attribute some problems to it.

Please go back and read post #2. DMSS isnot a method of modulation; it is a method of handling the carrier frequencies in the 2.4 Ghz band. The modulation is still producing the variable width pulses needed by the servos and ESCs.

Perhaps the question should be "Have you had any problems wth your DMSS system?"

FYI

I just got my second TG2.4XP DMSS Module and it doesn't work with my JR 12XMV either?????

We (myself and the LHS) called Horizon and did not get any suggestions after the first didn't work.

Not sure what to do. Never had a problem with the 12X on DSMX.

Anyone else got one of these? []

Check to see that you have the 12xMV in PPM mode? In the model memory, modulation must be set to PPM. Default is DSM

Thanks for the reply Mike.

I did an do have the PPM mode selected. I have the feeling it has to do with the connectors as it seem totally dead. The light at the back does not even flicker.

I am trying to find someone local with a JR 9303 to try it out on.

Hi Richard,

Also, I know that when the radio is in PPM mode, you have to push a button on the front in order for it to transmit. R u doing that?

Mike

The "RF On" and "RF Off" buttons have been pressed. When the "RF On" button is pressed the Blue light (RF On Indication) comes on for less than a second and the orange LED on the back stays off. That's what makes me think it is some kind of connection problem.

To be fair I would think this was the first or at least part of the first batch of 12XMV radios that were available in Canada. I have asked H.H. is there has been any software upgrades. Got told no! A person who was interested in buying it asked me to call up a glider screen and mine is NOT the same as one that was sent to H.H. for the DSMX mod. So I am not sure what the problem is. It would cost me a bunch to send this to H.H. to solve the problem and I think maybe the best approach for me is to just sell it and bite the bullet.

It works just great in DSMX mode I just what to switch to DMSS.

Hmmm, 1 more question for you Richard, just for interest sake; Does it work on 72mhz when u put the 72mhz module in it?

Also, if you want to do some menu checks/ comparisons, I have 2 12xMV's here that I can check yours against. 1 of them I run a Weatronic module in with no problems, that should not be any different than running your DMSS module.

Yes Mike it does the freq scan and all that stuff. I have never had a problem of any kind with the 72 or 2.4 DSM2 or DSMX modules. Which leads me to believe it might be the connectors not powering up the module. I pushed it in as hard as I dare.

This is a bummer so to speak as I would rather keep the 12X as a back up to the XG11 than sell it cheap.

That's a weird one Richard, seems like your radio works fine and it's the module that's dead but, what are the chances of u getting two dead modules

If you happen to be down this way next week, we could hook up in Toronto and you could try your module in my radio if you like,

I REALLY appreciate your offer Mike. I go to Toronto once every four weeks to take my 89 year old mother shopping etc. If the problem hasn't sorted itself out by then I would for sure take you up on your offer. Thanks a bunch.

Itlooks like they are on the way, RG 1131BPU

It's just going to take some time for JR PROPO to get their whole DMSSline out to us.

I can't wait to see the NEW FLAGSHIP radio that will replace the 12X.

Yes I've flown it, yes its a nice radio. The only thing stopping me from buying it is that JR doesn't have Power Safe recievers for it yet and I need one for my big Pawnee. The built in telemetry is cool

The RF will not turn on until you press a button. The idea being you could scan the band to see if you are clear.

You can scan the entire band if you wish and see what is in use. Then via software you could pick another channel. Most of the late model 72 MHz receivers are select scan so all you had to do was press a little button on the Rx and it would match the Tx frequency. This was nice if one of the channels had a bunch of users. Just switch to another. The big disadvantage was that you had to remember to change the freq. pin or else.

Multiplex was the first Tx I owned that had a frequency scanner as an optional extra. This was a nice feature till the 2.4 thing started.

When one turns on a JR 12X with the 72 MHz module plugged in the radio scans the 72MHz band to see if the channel for that A/C is clear. If not it will warn you about the conflict. You can scan the entire band if you wish and see what is in use. Then via software you could pick another channel. Most of the late model 72 MHz receivers are select scan so all you had to do was press a little button on the Rx and it would match the Tx frequency. Thank you cloudniner for your explanation.

I have a JR XP7202 which is a synthesized radio but it does not scan.

I have to find a clear (unused) radio channel and set it myself.

I guess that the pluged module on 72 Mhz does the scanning since it would be (has to be ) a RF function.

Note: I also operate on 2.4 but I have no problem on 72 because I am the only fellow on that band when I go flying using the 72 Mhz band .

Thanks again,

Zor
