Default Hitec Electron 6 modification question

I want to eliminate the plugs and wire the servo leads directly to the circuit board. Upon observation, there are tiny chokes or capacitors wired across the plug leads that extend through the circuit board. I will have to remove these to remove the plugs. Has anyone ever done this and are the components necessary for the receiver operation? I assume they are. This all for weight savings on a micro heli.

Those are RF filters, designed to get rid of possible noise that gets on the cables. I would highly recommend reconnecting those when you do your soldering. At least the caps, ferrite beads are heavy compared to ceramic capacitors so you can probably safely ditch them. But if you remove them both, you may have interference problems. You can always try without and see what happens, but that's at your own risk.
