Default gyros, gyros,gyros,

rate gyro and piezo is pretty much the same.
piezo gyros (incl heading hold) do not have any moving parts. not unlike old gyros, which have flywheels to sense the change of direction.
piezo can sense much more precise and faster the change of direction.
you will have a hard time finding non-piezo gyros these days.
heading hold is an advanced version of a regular piezo gyro and can differ between stick input and change of direction (due to wind etc.) therfore it can really lock into one position.
gain is how "strict" the gyro will react. the more gain the more it will hold in one spot. to much gain and the tail will start "wagging" due to overcompensation, the gyro is correcting itself...
i am trying to keep it short, but i hope that helps
