Hi, i have the is question:

What is the best radio money can buy the Futaba 14Z ?

I am considering a Futaba 8FG for use witht the new GCY750 gyro coming soon ? However,
will i make the right choice in a radio that needs to last me many years by going with the 8FG ?

It depends on the type of flying you do. For the average flier, an 8FG or 10C is all the radio you'll ever need

If you also fly helis, then get that 8FG, combined with the new CY750 is all you will ever need.

I like the big screen on the 10C. The 8FG has the same amount of channels though. Lots of people love it.

But your original question depends more on your wants and future needs rather than our opinions. For me it was the 10CAG. For some of my buddies it was the JR 9303 or 9503.

It depends upon the features you require. The JR11X or 12X, 9503, 9303, Spektrum 8X, the Futaba 8FG, 12FG, 14Z, the Hitec Aurora 9, Airtronics SDG10. I do not know about outside the US.

Update on the 8FG! While the software update has not been announced by Futaba in the NA market, the new software for the 8Fg is available in beta release on the Robbe website. Among the improvements to the 8FG is an added 4 proportional channels[8D], bringing it to a 12+2 channel radio. The 12FG will get an added 2 proportional channels 14+2.
The ability to upgrade the FG series radios is worth more than a little bigger screen size, but then the last update to the FG radios gave you a screen, where the two stopwatch timers are huge, taking the entire center of the display, only the essentials, like battery voltage, trims are on this screen, along with the stopwatch timers. Very easy to toggle back and forth if you want.
