SUC, are you a troll using a new alias or just an innocent, true "newbie" who just happened to step on this landmine?

If the latter, please do a search on these radios, and you will find many, many threads on Multiplex vs. Futaba vs. JR- it's quite an emontional topic for some.

Default Futaba 9C or Multiplex EVO9 or JR Propo 9X???

Come on guys, he's just looking for a few opinions. Let the war begin! I researched the Futaba 9C, looks very impressive for the money. I don't know anything yet on the JR 9X and I kind of looked at the Multiplex, but I personally would rather stick with a Futaba or JR.

I have a 9C and it's nice for the money, the JR9X isn't even out yet so unless you want to wait scratch that one, the multiplex is supposedly a good radio but they have their very own small group of users.

I have a JR 8103. It's a nice radio, but if I were to buy a new radio right now I think I'd be looking hard at the Futaba 9C. I like the assignable switch feature, plus I think it's a little cheaper in price than the 8103. Supposedly it's easier to program than the 8103, but I don't know that from experience.

I've had my hands on both and the 9C is far easier to program if you ask me. I too looked at both the 8103 and the 9C when I went searching and I ended up with the 9C. I was about $125 cheaper plus like Wade said the switch assignments are really nice.

No matter what you can't go wrong with either one but I felt the 9C gave me more options.

@mulligan
I`m just a true newbie. I know the Futaba 9c is a fine
radio, several members in our lokal club are using it.
But the EVO9 is newer an could be a little better on
certain things. The same could be with the JR 9X.
It would be a pain in the a.. if I made the wrong
choice.

I'm willing to bet out of the three, the 9C will certainly be the lowest priced and will have all of the features you will need for quite some time. From what I've seen the 9X does not have assignable switches, which could severely limit programming capability.

Here in Denmark I think the price will be nearly the same.
When it comes to assignable switches I`m not sure if I
like it or not. If the switches is set different with different
planes by the user, it could go very bad if a wrong switch is
used at the wrong time.

That's a big misconception about switch assignability that JR likes to take full advantage of when trying to sell their product. Heck, they even wrote an artice on Horizon's site about how switch assignment is going to make you crash, obviously not giving enough credit to the user. The idea is you set the switches in the position you want and do the same for all your models. Not only do you get the advantage of putting all rates on one switch (which the 8103 cannot do without using three free mixes) or putting them on separate switches (a number of radios cannot do this), but the possibilities of turning on mixes only under certain conditions becomes a reality. For example, I can have a different rudder-elevator mix on my Extra when I go from low rates to high rates. Seamless transition because I assign the two different mixes to different switch positions on my rate switch. There are many other possibilities as well. Once you try switch assignment and use it to its potential, you won't want to go back.

The 9C is a great radio. I reccomend it to anyone! I like the ease of programming and all the functions. It is the best I have seen so far!

Please keep in mind that Stig (the originator of this thread) is in Denmark. Multiplex radios are MUCH MORE popular in Europe, and the pricing is more in line with the competition, unlike here. In North America, Multiplex products are considerably more expensive than the competition, and that severely limits the number of loyal customers here.

If I lived in Europe, I would buy a synthesized Royal Evo.

I have had more than one person in my club regret buying a 9C when he saw how easy a Multiplex RE is to use and all the added functionality it carrries!!

I have a MC 4000 and 9C, 9C is easier to use if one does not need to do some VERY COMPLEX mixing, examples can be found in many replies fom Mr.Harry C did make here in this forum I can use without dwelling into its manual deeply. MC 4000 uses a different approach to do mixing and other functions.I am stilling working hard into it.
I do not have a EVO, but from RCU I learn that it should be more user friendly than MC series.
But if money is not an issue, I think the availability or compatibilty of accessories & technical supports will be next to consider.

If you check the prices with Tower, you will find that the prices of the EVO are not expensive at all-- especially when you consider all that it is able to do.

Bit you haven't actually got an Evo to compare yet. We have people trading in their 9Cs to get an Evo.
