Default Futaba 8U trainer plug hacking help

Hello guys,

I have an old Cirrus trainer plug (matches futaba perfectly) that has 3 pins free.
i would like to move the "trainer switch" of the Futaba 8U to the external Cirrus buddy box by running 3 wires to my Cirrus from the Futaba 8U switch mount ,through these 3 pins and a buddy cord. the only thing is - on the Futaba - 2 out of the 3 pins are soldered to the circuit (perhaps for nothing).

Does anyone know if i could cut the traces of these 2 pins in the Futaba Tx without causing any damage to anything? this would allow me to have 3 free wires in the buddy cord - perfect for the job !

Since the wires on the current Futaba plug are not connected to anything on the Cirrus buddy box side, i dont see how this could effect anything.

Please see attached pics.

THANKS for the help.
