Depends on the price and the condition. I had a 783 a few years back, which is basically an improved 347. It's an old design, but not too tough to program. Make sure you get the manual with it. Also, find out the condition of the batteries before you buy it. The NiCad can be another $30 to replace if the one that's in it doesn't retain a charge long enough. There's also a Litium battery that keeps the model memory intact that needs to be replaced every 5 years or so.
So long as it's not too expensive and the batteries are good it'll be a fine radio for you.

I fly my DP Ultimate with an X-347. In fact I have 3-4 planes on this radio at any given time. Mine is about 11 or 12 years old and I love it. I don't think you will miss a beat except for digital trims and throttle curves. I haven't had to replace even the lithium battery yet. The JRs haven't really changed that much. Look at a 347 next to a new radio. Its got plenty of bells and whistles. You will be able to get the manual pages you need right here from me or someone else on RCU. If the price is right, go for it. and yes you can use a buddy cord

Do replace that 3V lithium, eventually it will leak acid on to the circuit board. Send it in to Horizon. They are faster and more knowledgeble than us local radio techs. Horizon can also set you up with a copy of the manual you need. Good luck. 347 is a fine radio.
