Default Futaba servo hum

Hi all, I installed a bunch of Futaba S3010 hi torque servos in a plane and there is a very noticable hum when they are turned on. There is no binding or anything like that.I know this isn't normal, your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Its normal. Digital servos buzz a little, its nothing more than maintaining center against the weight of the control surface.

S3010's are not digital servos...
They are very analogue

Humming i suppose is normal if you are using a 6V or 6.6Vbattery pack. These are rated for 6V battery packs so not problem with that.

IF they were whistling I'd worry

Even analogs will hum a bit if the control surface is heavy enough to put a slight load on them.

I have used Hitec analog servos for years, with excellent success. Like other analog servos, they tend to Buzz when under load. The digital servos tend to make a high pitched Whine.

The higher you run the voltage, the smaller the deadband becomes. Yes I assumed they were digitals (i actually thought I should do a quick google when I submitted the post )but the same principal applies.
