I see just a few users have done this and I'm not quite sure I'm comfortable doing it. Maybe someone is interested in doing it for me? I'd pay you and/or you can keep the turnigy module.

Here's what I have and want to wind up with.

1 New Turnigy 9x without module or antenna.
2 New anylink module.
3 adapter to plug into the TX without mods?
4 Turn on the TX and fly , turn off when done (no unplugging)

If I understand this properly then the included adapter for spektrum can plug into the trainer port on the turnigy , but it doesn't have power. Will the other part of the cord plug into the turnigy recharge port to give the anylink power?

The TX runs on about 10 volts and the recharge port is futaba polarity. I think I could reverse the polarity with the adapter , but would 10 volts be too much for the anylink module?

Is anyone interested in this project or could help me out with these questions?

Basically I would have a naked 9x with a permanent Tactic module on it that required no soldering and would work with the stock power switch. Does this sound feasible? It would be neat if it fit up thru the TX and the antenna could stick up in the stock location too.

I found out that it can use 12 volts + for power.

I recently upgraded my 9X using a FrSky plug in module, only work I had to do was remove back, disconnect aerial wire and remove aerial. No real skills involved and FrSky module can be unPlugged and Turnigy module and aerial reconnected if required.

I wish the anylink module was like that. If I do it right I might be able to use the plug where the module latches in. I'm not even sure if the anylink fits in there yet because I don't have it yet.

Got the anylink modules finally and I think I figured out the pinout. When turning on the 9x the anylink powers up like I wanted. I just have to find a servo male to male short wire to connect it and mount it somewhere. I have a question about the antennas here. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11...m.htm#11009883

A servo plug will work for both ends , but a 2s XH housing is best on the 9x so it will allow the stock cover to be put back on. My module case will hold the XH plug onto the pins and the wires will come out the stock hole in the module case right up to the anylink.

This can be done a number of ways including putting the anylink naked module inside the 9x case and possibly soldering the pins right up and using the tactic antenna right up thru the stock location. The naked anylink module will also fit in the 9x module case and might make a nice clean looking install.

Mines going to be a dedicated Tactic only TX , but this might be possible to leave the stock module in place if one was to provide a way to switch between modules. If one had 3-4 planes of each RX that might be an option. I'm going to fly 8 tactic planes with mine.

Give me some time to prove this setup and double check everything.

2 other options are to use the included adapter cord plugged into the trainer port for the NEG and the PPM , but the power has to be pulled from somewhere other than the included charge jack adapter. The anylink cord is for JR charge jack and is reversed polarity from Futaba (Turnigy) , but reversing polarity won't help because there's no power available on the Turnigy center pin from the charge jack like expected. Maybe it has a diode in the circuit?

The other option is to make an adapter from the anylink cord with the battery built into it thus providing power for the anylink. I don't like how the anylink is powered , hooked , ect for radios other than Futaba. I want only 1 switch to turn on and not have to plug and unplug cords, ect. I think unplugging cords and charging tiny batts for the anylink is going to be trouble and a possible disaster. This is why I did it the way I did and I hope it works.

note to self: fix your battery holder on your Turnigy TX or it is going to be a disaster too.

Success so far. I have set up 2 planes (shyflyMax and flyzone micro piper) so far and spent some time with the TX and anylink powered up while I programmed. Will fly them both soon enough. I might even put a kit together if anyone wants it. It would include the adapter, the grommet and a plastic cap for the stock TX hole.

Here are the instructions for a dedicated anylink 9x without minimum mods.

1. remove module and module cover.
2. cut ant wire and remove module from case.
3. take TX apart if you want to remove stock aerial.
4. remove stock aerial and adapter and ant wire.
5. plug in adapter cord with 3s XH end white wire UP.
6. Install module case to hold in plug.
7. Slightly slot the module cover so servo plug goes thru.
8 Install grommet over the servo plug (cut it if needed)
9. Install cover with grommet in hole and velcro on top.
10 Install anylink onto TX and plug in servo end with white wire DOWN.

Well, I didn't get the anylink module inside the case like I wanted and I didn't use the stock aerial like I wanted. I did get kinda plug-n-play like I wanted with the exception of having to cut the stock ant wire from module to remove them both. You don't have to do that if you don't even want to take apart the radio.

I don't know what I was scared of, this was really easy. I flew 2 successful flights today and all seems well. I flew the Max and then set up my third plane Flyzone switch and flew it once too. Both needed a bit of trimming , but both were existing planes for me. I'm looking forward to putting some time on this setup with more planes. I have now been able to put 3 Tactic transmitters back in the box.

will the anylink bind to any 12ch 2.4 reciever?

and have you tested this with the turnigy 9x upgraded firmware "er9x" is it possible to use the anylink module with the new radio firmware , and 12 channels ?

No, it will only work with Tactic 3,4,6 channels RX. It does support 9 channels , but Tactic only makes up to the 6 channel RX right now. It will surely work with er9x , but only 8 or 9 channels.

ps. Been working without a hitch so far. Many flights on 2 medium sized planes , just a few flights on the mini.

cool. but my main interest is to make a wireless 2.4 link to a repeater station and if i can get 12ch out from the radio to the repeater i would be a happy camper

TX memory is almost all filled up with planes. I now have a LIFE 3sx1500 pack in this TX and the TX has been rock steady without ANY trouble so far. I did find out that the anylink will not bind with some of the older or "second gen" Tactic RX (TR 324, TR 424)

I think that perhaps the anylink module might pull less current than the stock Turnigy module. I have put a cheap $7 HK LiFE battery in it with good result with even the stock firmware. We'll see how the stock battery alarm is.

THANK YOU!!! This was insanely helpful and needs to be plastered all over the internet. Another user did a mod to hardwire his anylink into his 9x but since I have 1 tactic model, the mini albatross, I have zero desire to do that. This is perfect, thank you again!

That's actually what I wanted to do. (I wanted it to look "stock" and be a dedicated Tactic 9x)
For me it was like a no brainer since I had purchased many flyzone planes and planned to buy more.

I am soon going to go to ER9x on this TX because I need more memory locations than 8. Maybe a nice winter time project. I am keeping this for many small planes simply because anylink recommends a max range or 1000 ft. and some of the larger planes I'm afraid that I fly them over 100 ft. Three that come to mind are the beaver,sensei,calypso.

This will be a perfect TX to take to an indoor facility and 8 little planes. Only problem I forsee is that those small planes bind upon powerup and perhaps they will interfere with each other in the "pits" ? Not sure.

So have you flown with more than 1 person using an anylink at a time? I have heard some issues but cannot recall what they might be. I will find out either way this weekend as I am going to a rather large indoor venue that more than one should have an anylink. Still waiting on my plane/anylink to arrive but have my servo wire all set for when the ups man gets here today!

Yes I am using the 9x. I actually found my male to male servo leads and just swapped the pins around and was good to go. I am currently switching between my frsky, my dsm2, my flysky and the anylink lol. I still have yet to fly with anyone else using an anylink. I know a few guys are bringing them out this coming weekend so we will find out one way or another!Thanks again for your guide!
