Default Tx 72mhz to 2.4 ghz

I have a JR X388 8ch TX that is like new and wanting to by the DSM2 Spectrum modual for it so I have 2.4Ghz TX and getting the AR9000 RX with the DSM2. IS this going to work as good as going out and buying Fataba 8FG Supper Fasst 2.4 new. Looking to save a little cash?

"IS this going to work as good as"

The strict answer would likely be No.
However, the real question is would your choice meet your needs, whatever they are. I'd favor the Futaba, for more than a few reasons.
Just one has to do with DSM2 and it's "obsolescence".  The programming features of the 8FG are another reason. Don't rule out other 2.4G transmitters, such as the DX8 without looking at them in detail.

If you're used to JR and you like JR then they have several choices. DSM2 works just fine, the newer stuff is DSMX which is their latest protocol but the DSMX transmitters work with DSM2 recievers so you're fine there.
