Default Old Duralite powerbox and 2.4

I got this plane from 2004, never seen the light of day, and has yet to be completed. It has a Duralite power box in it, with 2 4000mah Lion packs, which are probably paperweights having never been fully charged. The RX in it is a JR 10 channel 72Mhz. It has JR 8611 digital servos and some odd boxes on the aileron servo leads in each wing. I plan to install either a Spektrum 8 channel RX or Futaba 8/14 ch RX in it. Is there anything I need to do with this panel to make them all work in harmony? I know nothign about these panels other than they provide the power for the servos.

Here is a picture of the box, the RX is just below it on the left side. The battery can be seen too. It's a Powerbox 40/24

It should work with any RX and servo. I was able to try it out with various servos and 2.4 RX, including the Orange ones, and it works fine. Just took a little playing with batteries to get it working correctly. The Lion that came with it were dead.
