High prices on Futaba 9C
Hi guys. Has anyone noticed the prices that Futaba 9Cs of all types (even 72 MHz) have been going for over on flee bay? There's on there right now at $500 and it isn't over yet! Anybody know why they command such a high price? Of course I'm not complaining, since I have 3 of them!

RE: High prices on Futaba 9C
There is always someone who thinks it is worth it.
I fly a 9C one of the first ones. NIB for a doomsday RCer, maybe, but I bought a 9Z WC2 for 200. They are good solid radios so hoarding one might be smart?
Years ago I was on a quest for a Kraft Signature Series every one on bay went to Hong Kong. I could not win one. Probably something like that. I finally got my SS through a private sale.

RE: High prices on Futaba 9C
Well I suspect that the FPV guys are what's driving the prices on the old 72MHz radios, but I was just on eBay and there's nothing there close to $500.00. Some sets from Hong Kong claiming to be in "excellent condition" with the servos at $330.00 but it doesn't look like they've sold anything.
Anybody 'wanna line up for an obsolete Futaba radio in Hong Kong for $300.00 plus????

I suspect that it is because the 10c is no longer avaliable with a MODULE option, my much loved 8u Super craped its self last week.
I tried to buy a 10c Module radio.....Gone !!!
I searched everywhere for a old stock one no joy.
I ended up buying a New Old stock 9c Super from Hong Kong on $bay for $330 with a PCM Dual reciever plus servos ect.
It was that or buy a 10cg 2.4 only and $$$$$ worth of new RX's that I don't need.
This will be my last Futaba Radio.....Hitech and JR are starting to look good
So much for being a good Futaba customer

About 1/4 mile seems to be what the radio mfg publish no matter if 72 or 2.4. In practice maybe 1/2 mile safely; some old 72 with max allowed power have been flown a mile. AMA to keep the FAA happy, promised them we wont be doing any extreme range flights as hobbiests.
