Default Futaba transmiter foam replacements

I have a single transmitter carrying case, aluminum in color. I have a Futaba 10 CAP transmitter I carry in it. I have been looking all over for a replacement foam insert for it. I could hardly believe Futaba didn't have them, but they told me they did not. If anyone out there has a lead, I would appreciate it. The bottom of my case measures 15 1/2" wide, 11 1/8" deep, and 3" high. Thanks in advance.

You will have to find the foam and cut your own!! I tried to find foam myself. I used egg crate foam for the task!

Be careful of the foam you choose, some will break down and leave a gummy mess which will corrode and ruin any metal that comes in contact with it. This comes from sad experience. I have not discovered a way to identify the offending type so only use the foam for transport not storage.

Go to an upolstery shop. Most will cut a piece of quality foam the exact size you need. The easiest way to cut the block of foam is with an electric knife.

I expect they want you to buy a new box every ten years or so. The hinges don't last much longer than the foam.

Bob....I never thought of the electric knife....I used a band saw and it works great on upholstery foam.

I hadn't though of it either until I stood and watched a local upolstery guy working when I went to get some foam. Like cutting butter.

Appreciate the pointer although I could not bring up a web site set forth as mycasemaker.com. I also Googled them with no luck. If you have any other way to get in touch with them, I'd be happy to try. Thanks, Mike

It sure worked just fine this morning. I really appreciate the recommendation. I have asked around for two months with no one having any idea; and ordered one which they said would fit, and I ended up throwing it in the trash. Thanks, Mike
