Default FrSky Telemetry Install

For the past two seasons I been using the FrSky 2.4 conversion on my Futaba 9C transmitter. I bought the two way system and every so often it would alarm on low signal strength. I noticed recently that Hobby King had began to sell other sensors so I decided to up grade. I purchased the DHT-U and replaced my original module with it. Rather than use the mounting system provided I elected to to install 1/16" aluminum plate on the transmitter and hold the new display on with velcro. I removed the 72mz antenna and used the hole to feed the wiring into the case andsoldered the wires onto the board rather than use the plugs provided.

The sensor hub (FSH-01 $15.75 at Hobby King)is mounted using velcro.
The temperature sensors (TEMS-01 $3.85 each) are looped over the cooling fins and twisted tight. A short piece of heat shrink tubing is installed to prevent the wiring from un-twisting. I mounted the sensor on the top of each cylinder, I really don't have any idea where the ideal location is but I theorized this would be the best, time will tell. The instructions tell you to take the length of the sensor wires into consideration, in my case there no way one location would work so I lengthed the temperature wires to suit.

The optical RPM sensor (RPMS-01 $9.37) is mounted in the air inlet on the cowl. Again this needed to be lengthed also. I added the servo plug to minimize cowl removal effort.

Two battery voltage sensors (FBVS-01 $3.19 each) are plugged ito the A1 and A2 ports to monitor battery voltage. Rather than resolder the input wire to correct 2 Cell position, I was able to change the ratio to provide the correct voltage reading. The sensor is simply a voltage divider designed to provide 3.3 volt when connected to a 1, 2 or 3 cell lipo. It comes wired for 3 cells, I'm using 2.
The remaining sensor that I am using is the variometer sensor (FVAS-01 $8.95) which provides altitude, you have the choice to use relative or absolute. As one might expect the absolute changes with the barometer.
There are5 additional sensors available;
1. Fuel gauge (FGS-01 $7.15) I understand it doesn't work well with gasoline.
2. GPS (GPS-01 $38.58) provides speed and position.
3. Lipo voltage sensor (FLVS-01 $10.70) measures individual cellvoltage up to 6 cells
4. Triaxial acceleration (TAS-01 $7.43) +/- 8gs
5. Amp Sensor (FAS-01 $20.01) up to 100 amps.

The installation was rather simple and everything works as advertized.

Tony,

I was just looking at that as I have a 9C and thought the price was so low is anyone using this confidently? I guess so!!

So are you 100% sold on the reliability and performance ?
I fly glow 60-90 size models and simple battery voltage would suffice for me, but all the little goodies are sure helpful.
Any more words on this wuld be great. Aloft hobbies carry these and the guys there seem very helpful.
Thanks

The equipment came highly recommended from Bob at Smartfly, it's cheap and works and appears to be rock solid. I'm using it ina 38% One Design. I don't believe you will find negative comments about the equipment. If you do please post a link. The only negative I have so far is that it is only 8 channels and I need 9 for 38% Christen Eagle Biplane. There doesn't appear to be much interest however.
