Default rx tx compatiable

i am just getting into the hobby and a buddy of mine his dad use to be in the hobby before he past away, anyway my bud gave me a bunch of his dads old stuff and in it is an expert 7 ch rx on ch 40 fm with 6 servos now my question is can i change the rx crystal to match up to my skysport yg 6
chanel tx which is on ch 49 any help would be great

I don't think this is plausible... Old Expert radios pre-date JR equipment if I recall.

In any case it would nit make sense to try this on your own. Take the radio gear to a reputable licensed radio tech and have done correctly...

The old and new equipment maybe single or dual conversion, AM or FM and or negative or positive shift.

Additionally as far as I know crystal's are not interchangeable form one OEM to another. Early equipment had to be tuned around the crystal in use.
