I had a update go bad on my Futaba 12FG. I'm looking for someone near Streator IL that has a 12FG so I can get my SD Card formatted.

Contact hobby services ? Champaign il. They may be able to help you. If your just wanting to format the card. Just use your home pc. But I'm thinking there is a program on the card for the tx.. Good luck and let us know..

The 12FG uses a proprietary format for the SD card. The 12FG will format the SD card if it does not recognize the format. I believe if you format the SD card on your PC then put it back into the 12FG, the TX will reformat the card in the proprietary format. The manual talks about this (page 17 in the pdf version of the manual).

Tried that didn't work. Anyway the radio is on it's way to Champaign IL for repair and check up. I bought it used so a check up is in order. Anyway I tried formatting the card in every format Windows offered. The problem was when you installed the card and flipped the switch to boot off the card the screen was all garbled with no option to do anything. And when you had no card in or card in and switch flipped to left you would go straight to the model select screen with no way to exit out of it. So hopefully I get it back in 10 or so days.
