Could someone tell me what this unmarked port is used for. Please see image below for port circled in read.

Battery ports. I know it will accept 2 batteries of the correct voltage, maybe three.

Not reallybattery ports as the 2 battery connectors are already pre-wired into the system.See the top of the image.
