Default switching models from futaba 14mz to 18mz.

After using the Futaba 14MZ for 7 years I finally upgraded to the 18MZ. The radio arrived today. Quick question: Can I just copy the models from the 14 to the 18? Or do I need to go through some model convertor software?

Thanks in advance.

This is great. Thank you. What if I want to change the receiver from the FASST (6208) to the FAASTEST (7008)? I believe the channel mapping is different for both these receivers? Does the radio take care of the channel mapping itself?

If You get no answer on the channel mapping question here try Futaba Radios Direct support forum here:

I believe the 18mzh is just like the 14mzh in that you can assign any function to the receiver channels. You dont have to use the default settings if you don't want.

When you change settings in the transmitter that will re-map the channels, the transmitter will ask you if it's OK. You can then elect to keep the previous mapping or go with what the system defaults to. This happened a lot when you changed between PPM and PCM modes in the 14MZ and other 72 MHz systems. Doesn't happen much on the 2.4 GHz systems.
