Default DX6 with optional lipo pack question

Two of my friend bought the lipo rechargeable pack for the Spektrum DX6. They both said that if they charge the battery and then put the radio away for several weeks the battery will be dead. I have a DX6 but I use alkaline batteries. I never have this problem. I have not turned mine on for several months and the battery are fine. Has anybody had this discharging problem?
Thanks

They issue they're talking about is within the LiPo charge circuit. You're OK.

Thanks for the reply. So a circuit in the lipo pack drains it down? Is there any way to avoid this. Maybe unplugging the pack from the radio will stop it from draining down.

Unplugging the pack will have no effect. If your friend's battery pack is doing this, he should contact Product Support. Not all packs do it.

Thanks for the reply. Horizon hobbies is sending them both new battery packs. They knew about this issue in some of the packs.

I've used the DX6 with AA batteries with zero problems but I want to convert to something with longer battery life. Any suggestions?
