Default Tactic TTX650 transmitter battery question

Is anyone using a 2S lipo battery in this transmitter? With all my lipo batteries and my charger it seems a shame to have a separate set of AA NiCad or NiMh batteries just for the radio. I'd like to use a 2S lipo if I could. I know the lipo will provide 7.4V and I know the specs say that the transmitter will take 7.0V, but I'm wondering if anyone is happily using 2S lipo's.

If the specs say the upper limit of input voltage is 7volts then a 2S LiPo is too much voltage. Simple as that. Specs are specs for a reason.
