Binding ESC
First off I have no clue what I am doing except trying to learn.. I have this ESC http://the-rc-resource.myshopify.com...-brushless-esc for a BP Hobbies Fun Foam 25" Extra http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...23&pid=V546177...
Do I still need a receiver for this? If yes, what would work?

The ESC is used to control your electric motor and supply the necessary voltage for your receiver and the servos.
The receiver has to be compatible with the transmitter that you intend to use.
Which brand of transmitter are you planning to use ?

Your ESC (electronic speed control) is used to control the speed of the motor. As such, it needs an input from a receiver to command the speed. Most ESC also contain a UPS (universal power supply) which provides a limited amount of power to your servos (usually about 5 volts). This power is fed back to the receiver through the red lead in the three lead connector that connects the ESC to the receiver (on the throttle channel). Some ESC's do not have a UPS but most do.

Any DSM2 (or even better DSMX) 4 channel receiver will work. If you are on a tight budget, there are some cheap compatible receivers that can be purchased from HobbyKing and the likes. The makes are Orange or Lemon. They will be OK for park-flier planes.

Like I said I'm a beginner.. I like to build them better than flying them...lol.. These little foamies are in hopes that I learn to fly with minimal damage to the plane.. I'd hate to wreck my balsa trainer. I did it in an all Indiana Hoosiers layout. I'll try post a pic if anyone cares? haha
