DX 18 Is this the new radio for me?
Im starting to fly again after a 10 year absence. I seen the Spektrum DX18 gen1 on the Horizon Hobby web sight. Looks like a really good price. I have been flying a JR PCM10 for a long time and as old as it is it does what I need. I want to upgrade to 2.4 and a better radio that will meet my needs like the PCM10 did. Im a sport flyer that flies a little pattern, scale, and a few 1/4 scale. Is this the one that will meet my flying needs? Thanks for your suggestions, Dave

Futaba 18SZ. It's only a little more money but light years better in feel and capabilities. I just switched from a JR XG11, was hard core JR/Spektrum for at least the last ten years and would do it again in a heartbeat.

My Feedback: (11)
The 18G1 is a great radio and with the G2 being so popular the G1 is an excellent radio at a great price.
The main differences between the G2 and G1 are voice alerts and the wireless trainer master.
Feel is personal and I've yet to need a function, short of doing the dishes, that my 18 won't do and I have some very complicated setups.
