I am thinking seriously about buying a FlySky i10 radio but thought before I make the jump, I would like to hear any comments you all have concerning the radio. I invite comments both good and bad about the radio, just the honest opinions of folks who have experience with them.

I have had mine for over a year with up to 16 models setup. I have had no issues with it. Easy to program, does so much I have not needed yet. I bought mine from Forcerc but you can get it from other places.

I have been flying RC since the early 70's using Kraft, JR & Futaba radios. For the last 10 years a JR 9303 running DMS2. Recently I decided to upgrade to a more secure 2.4 system and after a lot of research settled on the FlySky FS-i10, just $150 on Amazon with a 10 channel receiver and several accessories. I couldn't be more pleased with this system. So far I have just 2 of my planes converted but for just $25 for a 10 channel receiver it won't be long before I will not be a JR user any more. There are so many good things about the i10 system that I am not going to try to list them but trust me, If you invest $150 to try this system you will not be disappointed. I really hope this discussion gets going because there is a lot of good information to share regarding the i10.

The way you bind the non-telemetry Rx's is the same way, the Tx just does not get the signal from the Rx it is bound, so you have to manually click OK on the screen.

I can't believer the price for what you're getting. Is Flysky a here today gone tomorrow company? Anybody flying these in competition? Anybody have specification comparisons with the more familiar brands (Futaba, Spektrum, Hitec , etc)? Seriously, I'm astonished.

I just converted my third plane to the FS-i10 system, a 25% gas Super Stearman.
The system is great in every way. Don't know why it is so cheap other than the fact that Futaba, Spectrum, etc are extremely overpriced. JR for sure will be "gone tomorrow" so I decided to try the FlySky i10. The AFHDS-2A 2.4 protocall is superior to DSMX. Don't know how it compares to Futaba's FAST. The FlySky AFHDS-2A has been tested out to 2.3KM so I feel confident with it on our flying field.
The only negative (to some) is the fact that the transmitter does not have a removable JR type module but at $25 per 10 channel receiver that is not a problem for me. I don't want to fly anything on DSM* so I wouldn't do that if I could.
This is FlySky's first venture into the "high end" RC market. They have a prototype 18 channel in the works. Perhaps some day FlySky will be a well known, well respected brand. I remember when Spectrum was a suspect brand and look where they are today.
Just my thoughts.

I remember back when Futaba was a CHEAP thing from all places, Japan.

I started to go Frysky back with a 9x I bought for $55.00 to the door. I could not justify spending $70.00 on a 6channel Rx for my beloved Airtronics RDS8000 and put it in a plane that cost me $2.00 for the foam, and less then $40.00 for everything else. After a year using it on cheap foam planes, I put it in a larger foam trainer. not glitches, hiccups or brown outs. After 2 years of the 9x, flashed it with er9x, still have it. But the i10 was on Super sale, so I could not resist any longer. I could use the i10 with all the budget priced Rx's I had for the 9x, if I wanted telemetry, I could spend $17.00 for an Rx that had it. I will use my i10 in anything I have. I have a sail plane I spec out. Never had a issue.

Have you used an iBus expander?

Sorry for the late reply. I was having tons of net issues.

I have not used the ibus, t-bus, sbus, ebus on the i10, yet I have used it on the iT4 surface radio. Depending on the Rx, you will do it a different way.

On this Rx, there are (2) ports on top of the 10 channel ports. You plug the sbus in there. I was reading on the 6 channel forum that they use this to expand the 6 channel to 10 channel with a firmware update.

I have used the PPM out for a single servo wire from the Rx to the flight control on a helicopter. Makes it easy to route the wires.
