Fly Sky FS-I6 for R/C Air?
I'm looking for a radio for my son's .40 size trainer. I have a FlySky 2Ch car radio system and it has been flawless, just curious if anyone has tried this model on an airplane. I am skeptical as it states it has a 500m range, kind of tight for an airplane...but then again, AM radios back in the day where not significantly better either.
Is there any other similar brand I should consider? (besides the typical Jr, FUT,AIR, HiTec, Spektrum).
Thanks,
David

Just wanted to provide some feedback on my experience.
So far I'm impressed. When setting up the radio, I was amazed at the fact that I can do as much programming on this radio as I can on my old, but venerable, XP9303. Programming is as easy as it gets, I only had to look into the instructions to figure out how to save settings and return to main menu.
Gimballs are too soft by default for my taste, but they can be easily adjusted similar to any other radios. Transmitter is light, and has a sort of toyish feel, reminds me of old Futaba Attack 4 which were very popular in the 90s.
Not a big fan of the 4xAA Alkaline battery setup, but I',m sure I will find a good 6V Lithium alternative. I'm running a 6.0 V LiPoFe (Turniggy) on Rx.
I flew 6 times yesterday without a hinch. This radio has met my expectations (and his!!) :-)
