Default DX6 4 channel receiver & dual ail servos

Can you use a Y connector to attach to dual aileron servos? Only one of them works no matter what I do. Seems like I have done that before on other planes. I even replaced the non-working servo and new one doesn't work. Think I have gremlins in my house, planes and cars these days. If I switch the Y connector wires still only the same servo works! Thanks for enlightening me.

You can use a Y harness to connect two aileron servos.

Hi Jim
They usually work.
Have you tried a different Y harness? If that doesn't work, it looks like swapping out the radio to see if the problem is there, might be the go.
I'm going to follow this thread, as I want to introduce flapperons to my Boomerang II
Cheers

I'll try another harness but as I mentioned the same servo works only on either wire of the harness. I'll try another and if that doesn't do it will try another receiver.

Well I'm still stumped, changed the harness and same thing. Plugged the non working servo directly into receiver and it works, plug it back into the harness (either wire) and still only the right servo works! I do get a little bit of noise and slight movement of the none working servo. I haven't tried another receiver as I don't have a spare other than set up ones in planes. This defies logic or at least mine so I must be missing something so will take it to a friends to see what else to try. And I have tried three different servos and all do the same thing. Will check back in when I find something out.

Have you tried replacing the y-harness?

Got a multimeter to check the continuity/resistance in the Y-leads?

I used two Y harnesses and switched wires to servos and only the right one works.... I'm telling you it's gremlins!

Dude thats some weird stuff.

You can rule out the radio itself so the only other thing is the receiver

Test the Y and servos on a different channel... It also might be one of the micro-pins in either the Y or a servo that's going on the blink and not making contact. .

It could be a bad servo. If the servo is putting too much load on the signal line, then it's possible that only one servo will see it. Or if one servo is more sensitive than the other.

Fortunately, there is a solution: SPMCP from Spektrum.

Or you could put that 10 bucks towards a 6 channel receiver and save the 4 channel receiver for another project.
Personally, I avoid Y harnesses at all costs.

And that would probably be lighter, too.

Well I have a 6 channel or 8? One with the separated out antenna that I was saving for a plane with retracts but guess I should just use it. I've used Y harnesses many times and this is the first issue I've had. I was going to replace the good? Servo and try another channel to see if can figure it out first though. Thanks for all the suggestions. This stuff can get quite complicated. That's fine as long as it's on the ground!
