Default Downloading Spektrum Programmer and Updater.

Does anyone know where the Download button is on the Spektrum site, for Programmer and Updater?

I've spent a while rummaging around, but can't luck on to it.'

I asked the question on the Contact Us window, but no response as yet.

Cheers

OK . . . so answering my own first question . . . .

To download the Programmer . . . .

Go to MY SPEKTRUM
Select a Receiver (in my case, AR 9350).
Select Download Updates.
Read the text . . .
RECEIVER FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
To perform firmware updates the following items will be necessary;

* Download and install the Spektrum Programmer from here.
Click on the link and begin downloading.

Now I have to find out how I downloaded my Updater.

Talk soon

AR636 6-Channel AS3X Sport Receiver (SPMAR636): Spektrum - The Leader in Spread Spectrum Technology

On this page you will see the PC program to update receivers. I think this is what you want, PC Down load gives you the programmer, PC Firmware gives you the updater

Thanks, Andy.

For some reason, they don't like Windows 7, on my lap top. It's telling me that the drivers are no good.

I have them on my desk top computer, which has Windows 10, but they seem to have stopped working.

I've ordered an AR 7350 and I was hoping to plug it in to read the serial number. I tried a practice run with my AR 9350, but I can't read the serial number on that any more either.

My ultimate aim is to activate the AS3X on both receivers, but no one here knows how to do it. I suspect that I might have to bind the receivers to the DX9 and activate them in there.

I can't register my DXe on My Spektrum, either. For some reason it doesn't come up in the list.

Frankly, I find Spektrum mystifying and opaque.

Cheers

They both run great on my Windows 7 machines at work and at home, and my son uses it with WinX.

Since you're having PC issues, I suggest you contact Product Support. They can walk you through the process very easily.

I'm in Australia, so phone calls are problematic, Andy.

I've emailed Product Support, but no answer as yet.

I don't have PC issues with anything except Spektrum.

My big difficulty is that our local retailers don't really understand Spektrum and when I ask questions I get fobbed off with some glib answer.

When I get home to try what they have advised, it doesn't work.

As a newbie, I can't guess what these answers are. I just have to pester people until I find someone who will take the time to ease me into it.

I suspect that other brands will be the same, so I'll stick with Spektrum.

I'm not young any more. I just hope that I will live long enough to break through the wall.

ModelFlight is your Product Support center. http://www.modelflight.com.au/customer-service/ They're in Australia.

If you've already e-mailed the USA Support then they'll take care of you. Things are a bit hectic here right now as we acquired Hobbico, our largest competitor (slightly bigger than us) on Friday.

I don't know why the drivers wouldn't load for you. If you plugged things in before loading the code, it may be that it is trying to download something from Microsoft instead of using what we provided. I'm not a PC tech support guy or I'd be happy to help you.

Thanks, Andy.

Model Flight is who I am dealing with. They really don't have time to help people in depth, when there are other customers in the shop.

I've joined a new RC club. There seem to be people there who use Spektrum and are willing to patiently deal with a newbie.

I'm going to my first meeting tonight; with high hopes.

I read about the acquisition of Hobbico. It must be an exciting time for you all.

All the best

My Quick reply disappeared. Trying again. First try to read the Serial number.

OK Installed Spektrum Updater.

Plugged the SPMA 3065 cable into the BIND/PROG port on the receiver, and the USB port on the comuter.

"Cable connected but no device."

Plugged a battery into a free port on the receiver.

"Cable connected but no device."

Frustrating.

OK. I've cracked the code . . .

Plug the USB cable into the computer BEFORE launching the Updater/Programmer.

Then power the receiver with the battery.

Voila!!

Now the AS3X should be a doddle.
