Default PowerHD Servos

Building a 1/4 scale WW1 bipe. Getting a bit expensive at this point and figured I could save a few $$$ by using Power HD servos (vice the more expensive Hitec).
Have read a few reviews saying that the PowerHD longevity and centering are not the best.

Any of you who have used them offer an opinion? Would hate to invest this much time, effort and money in a project just to have a crash just 'cause I wanted to save a few $$.

I have used Power HD 1501 servos in several 30-50 cc sport planes for several years without failures. I put a 1501 on the rudder of my 1/3 D-VII when the Hitec 645mg failed, about a dozen flights with it , no problems.

I’ve been running the 1501’s for at least 4 Years, they don’t center well but are strong and a solid Servo. My 50cc FW 190 has 100+ flights with all the same servos.

You can use the LF-20 servos. They are a few dollars more, but center better and are digital. I have them in my turbine sport jet.

Appreciate the replies guys. I just keep focusing on the manufacturer's statement "This servo is suitable for large plane (not precision or aerobatic), "
Still on the fence.

I just bought 6 power hd LF-20 servos for my 30cc yak. After I installed them I find they don't center in one direction and there is quite a bit of gear mesh slop on every servo. Very sceptical at this point with this servos mechanics. Hope it flies better then I think it will lol maybe looking for something else

I've got about 40+ planes, 30cc and 50cc gas and all have LF-20 servos in the flight control positions. Most have 1501's as throttle servos. Have never had a servo issue with any of them yet until this week. Got 6 new LF-20's in to go in a new Corvus 30cc I'm building and one of the servos is DOA. Guess this is bound to happen once in a while, so sent it back for replacement. I'm still sticking with them as my main servo.
