Advice for Elevon mix with Futaba 8J
Have a question about using Elevon mix to control a tracked vehicle. Did a bit of searching here and found some good info, but have further questions for those of you that have been able to work this out.
For my current project, I am attempting to use a Futaba 8J for single stick control. Using Elevon mix, it seems to function well, except for turns in reverse, which seem to go opposite the stick direction.
Stick Position vs Vehicle Direction
12:00 Full Forward
10:30 Left Turn Forward
09:00 CCW Spin
07:30 *Turns in Reverse, but toward the 04:30 direction
06:00 Full Reverse
04:30 *Turns in Reverse, but toward the 07:30 direction
03:00 CW Spin
01:30 Right Turn Forward
Thinking about it in terms of an Elevon on an aircraft, it would seem to have the correct roll direction in all cases, but seems like the mix would need to be slightly different for a tracked vehicle. Is there a way to tweak the mix, or is there another/better solution.
Thank You!
