Default Question on power distribution boards

I’m looking at several servo power distribution boards like those made by RCCSKJ (probably sold also under other names).
Some have an integrated ignition kill switch and some don’t but all have dual battery inputs for redundancy.

The technical information I’ve found is very limited and mainly lists the various features.

Now to my question - does anyone know if these units simply wire the two batteries in parallel or is this board a little smarter and incorporates any diodes or anything else to ensure a dead battery does not drain the live one quickly? And is there any indication that one battery has died?

There’s a wiring diagram on the back of the unit that shows simple parallel battery wiring but I’m trying to find out if that’s really the way these are made or am I missing something that makes such a unit worthwhile?

I know they incorporate a smart hot switch, but not sure if the dual battery setup really does provide any redundancy.

Depends on the board, some are higher quality than others and cost accordingly.

A dead battery won't drain a good one
