Default Can a Futaba 6XA be used as trainer box with 9C?

I have both the Futaba 9C and the Futaba 6XA. I am just getting back into the hobby after 6 years or so away. I would like to use my 9C as the main Radio for my planes. I have an instructor who is helping me get the kinks out using one of his planes and setups. I would like to have him help me using my planes. He has no good way to setup a buddy radio to my 9C. Can I configure the Futaba 6XA in some way to be the buddy radio? I have the connector that goes from the back of the 9C to the connector on the back of the 6Xa.

Thanks,

Terry

Hi Terry, I googled this question and came up with this link. go check it out: https://www.futabarc.com/systems/trainer-cord.html . I think depends on the trainer cord type and I have the 8JA and it has a modular plug in and some of the older systems they use a DIN type cable
Good Luck and happy flying
