Default best programming habits?

Sport Flyer ... bought a used 30 cc beaver ... have Futaba 16 sz. curious as to which switch you assign to what and some rational behind it.
I live in the boonies and everybody seems to just use random assignments. Choke, Optikil, Flaps, ... Do you use slides and knobs... when?

Would like to use best practice setups and not have to re-invent the wheel?

Any pearls would be appreciated!

Different guys have different preferences is about all I can tell you except for me, I make every model as close to the others as possible e.g. the kill switch I use is the same one for all the models except for the turbines which require that you pull the throttle trim all the way back. Same with the retract and flap switches, on the models which do not have retracts or flaps, I do not use those switches for anything else. Just play with it a bit and see which switches fit your hands best and use those for the most commonly actuated function.
