Default Broken JR R700 Receiver

I have an R700 that I tried to put into a plane and it will twitch the servos but not relay signal from the transmitter. I know the RX battery is fully charged and the transmitter works because it controls fine with another model. Is it safe to call it bad and just buy a new receiver?

Be certain that the servos and the battery connectors are oriented correctly. I’ve had servos that twitch if the polarity was wrong. Also check that the transmitter modulation is set to PPM.

I tried plugging in the servos both ways and tested all four servos on all the channels. Will check the modulation but can tell you that the transmitter controls my other R700 equipped plane perfectly. I tested it today.

Try the frequency Crystal from the functioning R700 in the defunct R700. If that works then it means your other crystal is not a single conversion crystal.

It was the crystal. I know it worked in the past. Any idea why it would go bad from simply sitting 18 months?

Did you actually try the known good crystal in the defunct rx or just saying you know it worked in the past?

I tried the known good crystal in the defunct rx and it worked fine. If anyone knows where I can get a ch 47 crystal it would be great to know.

Good now that we have established that you have two good rx's and only one 'single conversion crystal' Your task now will be to find another 'single conversion crystal ch #47.

All older JR rx's were single conversion types and therefore reqired only single conversion crystals, dual conversion type crystals will not work.

So in your search you must look not only for ch 47 but one you can confirm as a single conversion type, remember JR made dual conversion rx's in their last years of pre 2.4 production So there are also dual conversion JR crystals out there.

John
