Spastic 605 Hitec
I am well aware of the lack of centering precision with the Hitec 605 servos but has anybody had one go ape and start fluttering rapidly back and forth around neutral? This happenned to a buddyof mine with a brand new 605 while performing a preflight. The servo would drive his elevator up and down with a total displacement of about 1/4 inch each way, then settle down. Needless to say he didnt fly the plane. I have 5 of these servos on a 1/4 scale Giles 202 and they have performed very well for me for over 60 flights so far, but this makes me a bit nervous. If he had been airborne the results could have gotten real ugly. Your comments?

RE: Spastic 605 Hitec
Out of 7 605's, I have had to return 4 for going nuts. One would not come close to centering, one would just go all the way to ie side and strain to strip the gears. The rest would just move a little each way from where you moved the sticks. Before you tell me that it was my radio, setup or radio interfearance, the new servos are not doing it and they have been working very well. The servos were just bad. I am not sure if it was a bad batch or a bad run. I have them in a .46 size Global Ultimate bipe so I don't think they are being abused.

RE: Spastic 605 Hitec
Look I'm tired of people mouthing off hitec and they're 605s. I've had 5 of these and all have had over 250 flights, all fine all just as fast, just as powerfull. john316, keep the 605s in the plane. The only ones that go bad are the ones that go bad within the first 10 flights, or used in cars or planes that the sufaces flutter alot. 605s are perfectly good servos.
